Men’s Work

Brotherhood work has always been a deep part of my life's purpose.

You may wonder why a woman has made it her mission to support men. The answer is simple, because it’s NEEDED and to heal the woman we also have to heal the man. Women have many spaces to come into union with one another in vulnerability, rawness and solidarity.

Unfortunately, this is not a norm in society for men. Men are shamed for falling into the stereotype(s) of what it means to be a “man” and are told at the same time to “soften.” This does not create a safe environment for men to be seen, felt and heard; to FEEL. This impacts not only a man’s relationships with others (sometimes leading to emotional avoidance or anxiety), but a man’s relationship to his own heart and self worth as well.

Get in touch with your feelings, body, heart, & inner truth

Did you know that science has shown women are more moody than men (due to hormones), but men are actually more sensitive than women? Unfortunately, in today's society men are not given the permission nor the space to be vulnerable, let alone with other men. This reality has caused many men to disconnect from their feelings, bodies, desires, needs, boundaries and intuition. On a larger scale, this has led to a global mental health crisis amongst men; more men take their own lives and more men fall into addiction than women.

After losing my first love to an overdose, a dear friend and later two male family members to addiction and suicide I knew I could no longer turn a blind eye. This is not a “male” problem, this is everyone’s problem because when you heal the man you also heal the woman; you stop blaming men and instead start to see the deep sensitivity within them.

Brothers, will you show up for yourself? Will you head the calling to be a brother in a world of distorted masculinity (in both men and women)? Will you shed your skin to get to the core of who you really are? Who you were really meant to be?

Offerings

I offer 3-6 months Somatic & Intuitive coaching packages, Somatic Soul Retrieval Retreats (with somatic body work and plant medicine) and Plant Medicine journey to men both individually and in groups. This work supports men getting more in touch with their inherent feminine nature. Regardless of the body you were born into we all hold masculine and feminine energy, but integrating those energies is the true work in aligning all the different aspects of yourself to become WHOLE; thus marrying the parts of yourself that wants to produce, protect, provide, do, succeed and analyze (masculine) with the more soft and less explored aspects of feeling and intuition (feminine). When a man is in balance with his masculine and feminine, a man is able to lead, produce and succeed from a heart centered vantage point. This will support the world, his career and his personal relationship(s) with himself and others. There is absolutely nothing to lose from doing this work, except the deconstruction of your ego.

Root Work

Root work dates back to the ancient traditions rooted in India and was once common-place for “removing the war from man.” Meaning, supporting men to somatically release emotional density from the body. Much like the knots in our back that carry stress and grief, the prostate too carries trauma both from this life and from ancestral lineage. This energy causes blockages to feeling emotionally and physically safe, connection to the body and emotions, sexuality, pleasure and intimate relationships with yourself and others.

It is facilitated in a ritualistic manner, meaning with loving presence and reverence for the human in need of support and healing. It is done slowly and softly, so the rectum naturally opens at its own rhythm with consent. Sometimes the mind says yes, but the body says no. Therefore, the process is slow and intentional to ensure the feeling of safety and sovereignty.

This is known as, “root” work as it takes places in your root chakra or prostate. Your root chakra represents the foundation of your being. Meaning, any childhood wounds, traumas or lack of safety and stability from upbringing lives here. The intention is to release old emotional residue and blockages to deeper emotional grounding, alignment and ease. This modality can reset your nervous system and fill in the cracks to a broken foundation of relating.

We first start by having a real and raw conversation about why you feel you are in need of this work (ie: trauma, relationship, pleasure blockages) and what your intentions, fears and desires are for this work or any boundaries you may have. Secondly we move into the ritual, which starts with heart dearmoring, acupressure, reiki and sensorial massage. Lastly, we move into the root space where the practitioner gently and slowly presses on internal areas within the prostate that hold tension. Breath, sound and movement is encouraged to move the energy out of the body throughout the entire experience. The ritual is a collaboration between the participant and the space holder- communicating as feelings come up and boundaries shift.

My experience with this work

“Having lost a handful of men to mental health and addiction throughout my life, made it evidently clear to me that men need safe spaces to be supported without judgment or shame.I didn’t see the space available, so I created one!

I started off by facilitating brotherhood circles where men had the option to microdose psilocybin and collectively discuss topics like: forgiveness, shame and identity. This later translated into coaching men and taking them on guided plant medicine journey’s, as well as facilitating somatic body work. I have worked with hundreds of men on their journey to self compassion, healing and finding their inner truth and desires.

A lot of my personal trauma stemmed from men, but when I had gone through enough of my own personal healing I was able to seek to understand men with compassion, love and reverence rather than projection and wounding. It has been incredibly healing to support brothers and continue to create the safest possible space for them to be seen, felt and heard.”
